Winter is with us, the darker months calling us within. Hibernation, reflection, sowing seeds in the dark fresh nights. A time for restortion. Not always easy when hectic Christmas vibes calls us outward, and consumerism is that much louder. But I choose to focus on the beauty...people gather to share warmth, food, fire and seasonal gifts. Solstice nears, the longest night of our year. I have always found this to be a very special time; we can reflect upon the years unfoldings and let go of some accumalated layers that no longer serve us. Celebrate lifes cycles.
This also seems to be an ideal time of year to allow ideas and dreams to gestate. Ofcourse we need to create space and time in order to do this, something becoming more and more clear to me. As technology advances we all seem to be speeding up, thus it must be evermore vital to find ways to slow the pace. Enjoy still and simple moments. Celebrate the breathe. Pay attention to all of our senses. Winter is a time for deep listening and deep rest. How do you create rest in your daily lives? What can you do this week to give yourself an extra dose of restoration?
As a tool for self-enquiry, listening and tuning into the senses I have been busy creating aromatherapy products under my Artemis Rose Aromas name. I have created an Elemental Perfume range; four solid perfumes each representing an element: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. I suggest a meditation before applying the perfume, tuning in with your body and asking yourself which element will most serve you in this moment...
